Our Top Recommendation

Stay Close to the Ferry

Best Logistics

Kimball Terrace Inn

Northeast Harbor's finest, and conveniently located just steps from the Beal & Bunker ferry dock. This is our strong recommendation for the wedding weekend — you'll wake up right next to where you need to be, with no car needed on the day of. It makes the whole ferry logistics feel effortless.

Bar Harbor Options

Bar Harbor has excellent hotels and is a beautiful place to base yourself for exploring Acadia before or after the wedding. That said, it's a longer drive to Northeast Harbor for the ferry, and parking logistics on the wedding day will be more complex. Great for extending the trip — slightly less ideal for the wedding day itself.

Best downtown location

Bar Harbor Inn

Upscale

$200–$450/night

Sitting right on the waterfront in the heart of downtown Bar Harbor, this is the landmark property you've probably seen in every photo of the town. Waterfront views of Frenchman Bay, an on-site restaurant, outdoor pool, and spa — all within walking distance of everything worth seeing. This is almost certainly the "cool downtown hotel" you remember.
